I’m Stuck in My Business — What Should I Do Next?

You’ve got a product you believe in. You’ve built a loyal following. You’ve worked weekends, worn every hat, and pushed through far more than most people ever see.

But right now? You’re stuck.

Not dramatically.

Just… stuck.

Spinning your wheels. Making progress on paper, maybe, but not feeling the momentum you once had. Maybe your sales have slowed. Maybe your content feels flat. Maybe you’re questioning decisions more than usual, unsure what to focus on next.

It’s a frustrating, and common, place to be, especially for founders of growing retail brands. Because you’re not at the start anymore, but you’re not at scale either. You’re in the in-between. And in that space, it’s easy to lose sight of the bigger picture.

So what should you do?

Before diving into tactics or chasing the next trend, pause. The answer isn’t always more output. In fact, it’s often the opposite. This is the moment to step back and reconnect with the strategy that sits underneath your business.

When founders tell me they feel stuck, I usually ask the same four questions:

  1. Do you still feel connected to your customer?

  2. Are you clear on what you’re selling, and why now?

  3. Do you know what your next growth move is?

  4. And crucially: are you working on the business, or just in it?

If you answered “I’m not sure” to any of those, that’s your cue. Because stuckness doesn’t mean failure. It just means something is misaligned, often your product positioning, your marketing direction, or the way you're making decisions.

Here’s the good news: this is fixable. But you won’t fix it by adding more to your plate. You’ll fix it by stripping things back. Fewer priorities. More clarity. A reset of the foundations that fuel growth, not just activity.

Maybe you need to reconnect with your core customer. Maybe your product range needs refining. Maybe your messaging is too vague or too safe. Whatever the cause, the next step isn’t just to do more. It’s to realign. Recalibrate. Reset.

Stuck isn’t the end. It’s a turning point.

If you’re feeling like this right now, you’re not alone, and you don’t need to figure it out on your own.

The Retail Reset was created for exactly this stage. It’s a free, 12-week email series to help you step out of the weeds and reset your thinking with calm, commercial clarity.
